The Capstone
A Part on which the whole depends.
Traditionally, the capstone - also known as Keystone - was the stone placed at the top of a pyramid or building. Acting as protection for the walls below and signifying its completion, Capstones were often considered the most essential part of a building. They were elaborately decorated to illustrate the culmination of the achievement.
In education, it is commonly known that the capstone is the culminating experience for students.
